Splinting

Our physiotherapists have the ability to make individualised wrist and thumb splints to support and immobilise these joints post injury.

Splinting in commonly utilised in conditions such as:

     · Minor fractures

     · Joint sprains

     · Skier’s thumb

     · De quervains tenosynovitis

Splinting assists in maintaining the optimal position while the damaged tissues heal. Once your symptoms settle down you will be provided with your own rehabilitation program to strengthen the injured areas to help prevent future re-injury.

Exact Physiotherapy can also offer thermoplastic splinting for specific injuries and conditions that may need protection during sporting activities.
